Buying a shipping container is a long-term investment, so it pays to choose the right specification first time. Here is what to consider before you order.
New (one trip) or used?
One trip containers have made a single voyage from the factory and arrive in near-new condition, in your choice of RAL colour, with a lock box and marine ply floor. Used wind & watertight (WWT) containers are the most economical choice for secure storage, while cargo-worthy (CSC plated) used containers can still be shipped worldwide.
Which size?
20ft containers are the most popular for storage and can be delivered by a HIAB lorry to most sites. 40ft containers offer double the floor area at a much lower price per cubic metre, and high cube versions add an extra foot of height – ideal for racking, pallets and conversions. See our dimensions table for the full specifications.
Special types
Open sided, tunnel (double end door), open top and flat rack containers solve specific loading problems, and flat pack stores are perfect where crane access is not possible.
